Rabbighfir Li Wa Tub Alayya – Dua for Forgiveness Wall Art
This printable wall art presents a short dua for forgiveness that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said often, written in Arabic calligraphy with its transliteration and English meaning. It is a gentle reminder to turn back to Allah, suited to a prayer corner, bedroom or study.
The words on the artwork
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
Rabbighfir li wa tub ‘alayya, innaka antat-Tawwabur-Rahim.
The English on the artwork reads: “O Allah forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.” The Arabic opens with “Rabbi”, which means “my Lord”.
Where this dua comes from
In Sunan Abi Dawud (1516), Ibn Umar reports that the Companions counted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying these words a hundred times in a single sitting. Al-Albani graded the hadith sahih (authentic).
