Dua for Protection from Evil Eye – Arabic Calligraphy Wall Art
This printable wall art presents a well-known prophetic dua for protection, written in Arabic calligraphy with its transliteration and English meaning. It is a calm daily reminder to seek refuge in Allah, suited to an entrance, family room or child’s bedroom.
The words on the artwork
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
A’udhu bi kalimatillahit-tammah, min kulli shaytanin wa hammah, wa min kulli ‘aynin lammah.
The English on the artwork reads: “O Allah! I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.”
Where this dua comes from
In Sahih al-Bukhari (3371), Ibn Abbas reports that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sought Allah’s protection for his grandsons, al-Hasan and al-Husain, with these words, and said that the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) used them for his sons Isma’il and Ishaq. In the hadith the Prophet ﷺ says “u’idhukuma” (I seek refuge for you both); the artwork uses the first-person form, “a’udhu” (I seek refuge), so it can be read for oneself.
